Appearance
Jackson wears different t-shirts and blue jeans while at school. If he's just hanging out at home you may catch him shirtless or in sweat clothes. During lacrosse games, you can see him in the standard school uniform of red shorts and a jersey with Whittemore on the back and the number 37 underneath. He also wears a lacrosse helmet and padding for protection.
Personality
Jackson is a typical jock. He gets good grades and plays sports. If you piss him off he will fight you. He stands up for his beliefs. Jackson is tortured by his parents deaths everyday, so much so that he had to find a girl to help keep his mind off of them. If Jackson thinks something is worth investigating he will investigate it until he finds out what it is.
Background
Jackson was born to no one. His parents had ended up in a car accident and his father died on the scene. His mother was rushed to the hospital where she gave birth to him via C-section and died shortly after. Her final word was her sons' name "Jackson". After being adopted by an attorney named David Whittemore, he took their last name. As he grew up he struggled with coming to reality about being adopted. He was a normal kid to everyone else, but to his parents he was a spoiled little brat. They gave him anything he wanted and he wasn't scared of getting into fights. When Jackon found out he was adopted he stopped saying "I love you" to his adoptive father and tensions between them rose.
Other than that he thought his adopted parents were nice and super cool. He grew up loving sports and played them with the neighborhood kids in the street. With good grades he was allowed to stay out later on weekends. Now in his third year of high school, Jackson couldn't be happier. Even though every time he put on a smile in the halls at school or in public, the truth is that he was tearing up emotionally on the inside over his parents deaths. When he had started high school he tried out for the lacrosse team and he was given Captain rank. Jackson also met a popular girl named Lydia Martin during his sophomore year.
They started dating and he continued to play lacrosse as he kept up his good grades. On his 18th birthday, Jackson will be getting a giant insurance policy, since both of his parents died when he was born. While practicing for a lacrosse game at school, he was hit by his rival Scott McCall. Jackson suffered a separated shoulder from the impact of being hit. After they won their first game, Jackson picked up the glove that Scott had dropped. He began to examine it before seeing someone in the distance. He tried to make out who it was, but couldn't see because of the lights shining down onto the field. He kept the glove to give back to Scott and left without a word to anyone.
The next day as he went to his locker he saw that someone had attempted to break into it and that it was seriously off the hinges. Jackson tried to fix it, but he stopped when he saw McCall. After losing at bowling and being scratched by Derek the next day at school, Jackson kept a closer eye on both of them. While going to the video store to get The Notebook to watch with his girlfriend Lydia, he saw the owner dead on the ground. The next thing Jackson knew, he was encountering the Alpha werewolf and he hid behind a row of movies. The Alpha knocked over the bookcases and trapped Jackson underneath before checking him where Derek had penetrated his neck with his finger. As the Alpha took off, the police and medics were called. The next day during gym, Jackson noticed strange marks on his neck while looking in the mirror.
He was beginning to see the signs of his transformation into a werewolf, except he was really turning into a Kanima. That night was parent teacher conference night and while his parents were in the meeting he was tossing a lacrosse ball at a can in a tree while drinking a beer. After becoming a Kanima, he finally became a werewolf when Lydia told him that she loved him. Scott was the first to figure out that Jackson was the Kanima and not Lydia. As the kanima, Jackson killed multiple people because his handler was taking photos of people that he wanted killed. After going to the winter dance his sophomore year, Jackson was drunk on vodka. His handler was Matt and when Matt was thrown into the pool, Jackson saved him. Later on Gerard becomes Jackson's handler after he kills Matt in the river.
During a lacrosse game, Jackson rips his own guts out and kills himself. By the time the EMTs arrive, he is already dead and being taken to the morgue. Scott's mom calls him and he rushes over to see Jackson with a row of black teeth. Jackson was beginning to enter Alpha state. After being taken to a warehouse, Jackson attacks Derek and throws him across the room. As he is ordered to kill everyone in the room, he is hit by Stiles's Jeep. Lydia shows Jackson his key and he has a flashback of his life with her. He turns back to human after being hit by both Derek and Peter. After going limp, his hands turn into claws and his eyes become a bright blue as his werewolf transformation becomes complete. Lydia gives him a hug after he turns back to his human form while shaking in fear and looking terrified.
Winning multiple lacrosse games and losing a handful was a part of the high school experience, not to mention the homecoming dance and especially prom. During all of the fun activities at school, he also wreaked havoc throughout town. His parents let him go to London for a couple of years to live with friends of his parents. He didn't care about leaving them behind as he took off to London, he just wished he could take Lydia with him. Jackson knew she would end up finding someone else while he was in London, and he knew he would be replaced. This angered him and upset him so much that he couldn't wait to get to London to start his new life. After living with friends of his parents in London for a year, he had heard rumors of a girl who had moved to Mystic Falls. Jackson shrugged off the rumor and carried on his training with the British Police. Another year passed and with his training complete he bid farewell to the family friends before he went to Mystic Falls. Once in Mystic Falls, he continued his final two years of high school and searched for the love of his life.
